![]() Acting + Dancing = ? We teach acting because dancers do act in their performances, whether it be ballet, tap, jazz or musical theatre. And who knows what a dancer might want to do with when they learn that they get joy from being a performer. Three of our best known contemporary actresses started in ballet classes: Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Garner and Neve Campbell. How about actors who were trained in dance as children? Well, ballet gave us Mikhail Baryshnikov and Patrick Swayze. Tap gave us Gregory Hines and Gene Kelley. Musical Theatre - both John Travolta and Christopher Walken took classes in their youth.

Acting - 4th grade and up uction) Our classes introduce the young actor to the basics of creating a character and improvisation through scene study, Reader's Theater, and a variety of exercises. As you can see from the fun facts on the left side of the page, one never knows where a dance student might end up. It certainly could be as a dramatic actor on the big screen or broadway star. But when you think about it, acting is a good skill for all kinds of careers. Teachers, sales representatives and lawyers all have to put on a good performance even when they are having a bad day. In "As You Like It", Shakespeare writes, "All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players:" We believe he was on to something, there!. Being on-stage is much more fun when you know you have some training to be able to carry it off with style and competence. We want our students to equate being on stage with having some fun. That has got to help! If you suspect your child has a heart for drama, then maybe they would enjoy our class. See "Getting Started" for more details about enrolling or "Our Programs" for more details on the course offerings and a calendar of key dates.
We offer the highest qualify of professional dance instruction available.
